Study Advisor and Student CoachThe students of BaMa programs can go to the study advisor or student coach for a study advice. The student coach supports the new students. He provides information regarding the entry-levels, gives advice and informs the students about the curriculum. The advisor fulfills the function of a guide. He is the person who can be contacted in personal matters and he can mediate between the student and the program. On the basis of interviews with students, the advisor can signal bottlenecks in the curriculum and will pass these to the responsible units. The advisor can help in matters of exemptions, changing of study, transitions and career planning. The advisor follows the progress of the students in their study, especially in the first year. The advisor can also help in financial matters, social security, housing, assistance in judicial matters, study choice, panning and motivation, studying, and exams. Students with a disability can ask the advisor to provide the necessary facilities. Communication with the advisors is strictly confidential. The advisor is also the confidential advisor regarding sexual intimidation, aggression and violence. These tasks are fulfilled by: Study advisor: E. Akcahuseyin Student coach: O. Uca Manuals for studentsThe University offers its students in many forms of information, advice and guidance. Students are initially referred to written information in folders, on the Internet and in the study guides. In the study guide there are information referring to the curriculum, the organizational structure, the annual calendar, the education items with detailed information and the academic staff. Partly, this information can be found on this website. For information about the programmes, at least the following handbooks, guides and files (all in Dutch) are available to the students:
Thesis GuidanceIn the run of graduation thesis, students are couched both in groups and individually. A Ba-thesis or Ma-thesis is accompanied by a promoted staff. Under the overall control of a promoted staff, the student can also couched by a non-promoted (pre-doctoral) staff. For the guidance of the students are the following documents (all in Dutch) available and freely available to the thesis coordinator:
The thesis manual provides detailed information for students and teachers on, among other procedural matters, roadmap, the criteria, the form and substance, literature research, source notification and problem situations. Study progress reportThe University has a study progress registration system. The Student Affairs shall be responsible for the registration of the study results and other relevant information about the students. At the end of each block period, the Student Affairs officials provide each student an overview of the accruing study results. Because of the privacy Act, the data of the students are protected. Only a few persons can be about the data of the students. Pre-undergraduate coachingAt the end of the first registration year, each student is given a binding advice on the continuation of his/her study. In the course of the first registration year, the student has an impression of what his/her study, his motivation and his suitability for the chosen professional direction. The opinions would be positive or negative. In the submission of its opinion by the advisors are the following factors taken into account: the acquired learning outcomes (credits) and performance, motivation, skills, the participation in the lessons and lectures etc. Students must take 60 EC within two years after the start of their registration year, in order to continue the post-undergraduate phase of the programme.
